Advanced Recreational and Floor and Vault

Our Advanced Recreational programme is for gymnasts that have shown particular skill, good attitude and determination to do well in different multiple hours per week groups that teaches the fundamentals of Gymnastics in a fun and safe environment. As the name suggests, the programme is suitable for gymnasts that are selected from our Gymnastics for All groups.

During a typical session, gymnasts will spend 10 – 15 minutes warming up and preparing their body to learn new skills. This could include stretching and practising different body shapes. Once the warm up is complete the class will be split into different groups of and they begin to move around each section spending quality time on different pieces including conditioning.

These rotations will cover different elements of Gymnastics according to the differing levels of ability. More experienced gymnasts will move onto more complex skills within the gymnast’s capability. It’s worth remembering that everyone learns at different speeds and the coaches will move gymnasts onto the next step when they are ready. There is an expectation that these gymnasts are working on the more advanced skills in general gymnastics.

In the Floor and Vault groups, the gymnasts will work on skills on the floor and vault specially for the West Midland Floor and Vault competitions.

Children are put into groups according to age and ability and we will always move gymnasts if we feel that they would be better in another group if they are showing potential or if they need more support. We don’t’ have a structure where gymnasts automatically move to a different time when they get to a certain age. If the whole group stay and progress together, we will keep them together.

Fees

Our Advanced recreational fees, are paid by a monthly standing order set up by parents. We ask that these are set up for the 1st of the month. A standing order form will need to be filled in and handed back to us which will need to be signed. We do not refund if a gymnast leaves part way through the month and we ask that you make sure that you cancel your own standing order of your child leaves.

Fees for 2023 are set out below and there will be an increase annually in line with our rising costs of wages, utilities and rent on bot of our properties. We will only increase fees when we need to. We still aim for best value for money gymnastics and always aim to be one of the cheapest in the West Midlands.

Our Floor and Vault fees are the same as recreation fees which are paid termly, and are split up into four terms per year (Term 1,2,3 and 4). Each term is 10 weeks (see term dates below). This will be indicated on the termly fee slip (sent via email) and also displayed on the notice boards on entry to the gym. Please see the website and noticeboards for details.  You pay for your child’s space in the gym, and we do not offer refunds if a child leaves mid- term unless it is through injury where they have not been able to do gymnastics. A doctors/ consultants/ physios letter is required to obtain a refund and must be emailed to headcoachcowg@gmail.com

We now offer up to 6 weeks reimbursement of fees with a letter from a medical professional. For standing orders, we will refund 2 lots of standing orders through injury. In both cases, it is only if your child returns to gym afterwards.

ALL PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DUE DATE ON THE FEE SLIP WHICH IS NORMALLY TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF THE NEW TERM. FAILIURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN YOUR CHILD BEING UNABLE TO TRAIN OR THEM LOSING THEIR PLACE. IF FEES AREN’T RECEIVED BY AT LEAST A WEEK AFTER THE DUE DATE, THE CLUB HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHARGE A LATE FEE WHICH WILL BE ON THE FEE SLIP. THIS IS TO COVER ANY EXTRA ADMIN COSTS.

For advanced recreational, you pay for 48 weeks of the year, 12 payments of your standing order, each payment is for 4 weeks worth of training, leaving us for two weeks off at Christmas and then the flexibility to cancel an extra two weeks. We always try very hard not to cancel training, but sometimes we just have to.
